Why I need the iSTEPup Foundation
Since my childhood, it has always been my aspiration to pursue a career in the healthcare field, particularly as a nurse midwife. I was happy when I received acceptance to Malamulo College of Health Sciences, however, my financial circumstances did not allow me to proceed with my studies.
As the eldest of two siblings, I tragically lost my parents at a young age. Mrs. Ngwira, whom I affectionately refer to as my aunt due to the unwavering support she provided, assumed responsibility for my secondary education. Witnessing Mrs. Ngwira’s dedication as a nurse to the community, I was inspired to follow in her footsteps and pursue a career in the healthcare profession. My ultimate goal is to contribute essential healthcare services to my country, particularly my community.
Despite currently serving as my guardian, Mrs. Ngwira has numerous obligations that prevent her from covering my tuition fees. This left me feeling despondent and believing that my aspirations were unattainable. Fortunately, through the assistance of my school friends, I was introduced to the Step-Up Scholarship program and decided to take a chance. After carefully reviewing the scholarship requirements, I submitted my application and was required to find a buddy. By the grace of God, I was blessed to find Dr. Iris as my buddy, for which I am incredibly grateful.
I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the Step-Up organization for granting me this scholarship. The selection process is arduous and necessitates divine intervention. With a profound sense of good fortune, I express my deepest gratitude to the Step-Up team, and may the Lord bestow His blessings upon you.
