Why I need the iSTEPup Foundation
As a divorced mother of two, I faced the daunting challenge of securing funds to cover my tuition fees. Though elated upon being accepted into an academic program, my heart remained heavy with worry over financial constraints. Nevertheless, bolstered by courage and hope, I began my studies with only modest contributions from myself and supportive relatives. Over time, I diligently sought out scholarship opportunities and was fortunate enough to discover I-stepup.
I promptly submitted an application and was blessedly chosen as a recipient. With this weight lifted off my shoulders, I can now pursue my education without undue pressure or anxiety regarding tuition costs. This newfound freedom will undoubtedly enhance the quality of my academic pursuits and yield greater success.
In light of these developments, it is with profound gratitude that I express heartfelt thanks to the team at I-step up for presenting me with this invaluable opportunity.

It is great that Lusungu has been accepted into the iSTEPup program. With this, Malawi has a fantastic hardworking nurse in store to serve her country and help people regardless of their background, or socio-economic status, Lusungu will treat everyone as equals. She will be the one with whom patients feel safe, the first person they can turn to, and always offer a listening ear to her patients. She hopes to serve her community and contribute to the well-being of her fellow citizens through her education. Lusungu hopes to develop into a dedicated nurse in the field of maternal and reproductive health.
